"Membership is extended to men and women 18 years of age or older who are direct lineal descendants of an ancestor who was a resident, owned land, conducted a business or trade, or performed military or civil services prior to 31 December 1699, within the boundaries of present-day Cape Cod, Elizabeth Islands, Martha’s Vineyard or Nantucket."
